We were presented with a flat, disused farm plot measuring 10,000 sq. meters, no vegetation except three sick old trees and an abandoned well.

 

From this uninspiring site, we were commissioned to create a villa with Spanish influences, set within a private tropical landscape.

 

We created a ‘U’ shaped villa, raised up 2 meters above the land level, with shaded cloisters overlooking a shallow pool in a courtyard.

 

This pool overflows into a 30 meter pool which is laid out across the full width of the villa. At one end of the pool is  a gymnasium and at the other end is a barbecue area and tennis court.

 

The residence has four bedrooms, with a first floor guest suite and a basement which contains a cinema, games room, parking for 9 cars and the now functioning well.

 

All of this is within a fabulous tropical garden which the owner enjoys all year round – shared with an abundance of wild birds.
